shmivejournal: it's not as good a song
shmivejournal: and the lyrics are forgettable except for the chorus
kingfox: Oh no.
kingfox: Have you heard it lately? It's got some great rhymes.
shmivejournal: lj poll time
shmivejournal: you're wrong
shmivejournal: "i know more lyrics to" a or b
shmivejournal: go
kingfox: I don't think it's better, but it's comperable.
shmivejournal: it's not
shmivejournal: also, sloppy joe
kingfox: Fine, lj poll.

I know more lyrics to:

I don't know any lyrics to either, beyond possibly the chorus.

I have performed "Bust a Move"

Are the two songs comparable?

Yes. They're both great, decent, or crap. Whatever they are, you can compare them easily.

No, "Bust a Move" is far superior. Different league.

No, "Things That Make You Go Hmmmm" is far superior. Different league.

Define a sloppy joe for me.

Is a LiveJournal poll the most scientific way to answer a question such as this?

Is shmivejournal always right?

I wonder who bought him those BVDs?

Tell a funny joke just to get some play, then you try to make a move and she says no way.

I can also tell you that flea is the bassist on bust a move. in the video, he wears stuffed animal pants. there is an elephant interestingly placed in the front. oh, flea.

I can't tell you if C&C even had a bassist.

It's C+C, not C&C. Oh yes, that is made quite clear.

C+C also had some pretty awesome videos. Not Flea with an elephant innuendo, but still entertaining. Vaguely reminiscent of the "In Living Color" intro, after it started to suck.

As for the bassist? I don't know. Ask the factory's shop steward.

That's my favorite line.

That song always gets a reaction. Who cares if we're old.

It's funny, I see it at karaoke all the time. feffthekidd did it every week for months of my life. Random place in the city, some guy's doing it. Bar in Hoboken, some guy's busting a move. Yet I've never seen a single C+C Music Factory song ever done at karaoke.

The man on the left in this shot can do a perfect Ice Ice Baby

He did it right after playing the hardcore version Vanilla Ice came out with in the late nineties, the really angry gangsta metal-ly album.

About nine years ago RUN DMC was playing in between 'Orgy' and 'Sugar Ray' at a spring festival at the local University. When you're singing along to "Tricky" and the girl next to you wearing the Tupac shirt says, "Man this shit is weak, who are these losers?" a bit of you soul dies. I makes a sound like rust door squeak as it goes.

I think this can help settle the argument:

I'll have to do "Just a Friend" some other time.

If someone wants to visit their girlfriend at the lovely UW-Madison, do they have to fill out a visitor's form? Biz Markie really makes us think about campus safety.
agentorrange From: agentorrange Date: December 11th, 2007 09:23 pm (UTC) (Hard link)
Now THAT I can recite verbatim. More recognized then 'Bust A Move' by far too. Cause for some reason it became trendy to like Biz.

Well, c'mon, he's the clown prince of hip-hop!
agentorrange From: agentorrange Date: December 11th, 2007 11:09 pm (UTC) (Hard link)
That doesn't explain all the alterna-emo-raver-punkwannabe kids with Biz Markie shirts. On the off chance they really do appreciate him I think I should carry Weasly Willis CDs with me.

Man, nobody told me that he was just going to keep head butting me.

Note the NJ part. And the links on the bottom, oh yeah.

If it wasn't for that damned "Great" Depression, surely the original sloppy joe - the one closer to the original cuban sandwich - would have caught on instead of that paltry imitation manwich shit.

Wait, wait, this has all been done before!!

I saw C+C Music Factory live. But Bust a Move is still superior.
