Recap of four weekends

As usual, stalking me on other sources gives you a better idea about my life than this neglected journal.

DSCF1815 DSCF1829 DSCF1807 The weekend of November 8th, I took off from work as jedimentat had off as well. I caught up on BSG having just caught up on LOST the prior Tuesday after months of watching it from the start weekly with runstaverun, kikibird, and windexcowboy. Both series were completely awesome, and all those who insisted I watch them from the outset were incredibly right. But, in the case of both series, the third season finales left me rather nervous for their ongoing awesomeness. Maybe the writers will come up with some ideas to right what they've wronged while on strike. Also that weekend, jedimentat and I went to Chinatown for some shabu-shabu after wandering around enough to get cold and wet. We also ventured to Ikea for shits and giggles. That Monday we saw the sneak preview of Razor, where I met greenwitch. I spent the next couple of weeks making joking spoilers to those who could have spoiled BSG to me prior to that.

DSCF1856 DSCF1844 The next weekend we went to Queens to do some charity work. jedimentat insisted that we'd stick together for whatever duty we were assigned to, and laughed at me when we were pulled into the warehouse together. But I got the last laugh as she was assigned to put Beanie Babies into boxes while I moved pallets of POWERade around. Noticing inefficiencies in our production line, I streamlined some of the slower jobs, took on some other tasks for myself, and helped other lines when they were low on supplies that were slow to arrive. It made me nostalgic for the years when freshman computer handout was more difficult (with printers, etc). After working the line we headed back to Manhattan for some Shake Shack burger and concrete. Mmmmm. Then we had sushi with maidoftheshore, nephthys43, and stratfordgal before heading off to see the Circle Players production of King Lear. The intimate playhouse was quite a different show compared to the Royal Shakespeare production with Sir Ian McKellen I had just seen with mostly the same group just a couple months ago.

DSCF1887 DSCF1880 Blowjob Night was supposed to be a coed affair but ended up being just the guys getting together for video games, M:TG, and fun. Thanksgiving I spent with jedimentat's family, at her brother's house. Dinner was early and excellent. Going back for leftovers and playing cards with those remaining was also fun. The beer, meanwhile, was fucking fantastic. The next night dosboof, mandy_moon, shmivejournal, normajean, dickardo, and their LJ-less comrades came out to Hoboken for sushi. Saturday we went to Menlo Park Mall (my first visit there in at least six years) for KG's birthday.

Guy met Tony, Monique, and Ryan entertainingly enough at Penn Station. He located them again at the concert, and it was awesome to see them after so long. After the concert (jedimentat's first metal show), the three of us had a late dinner at a Korean BBQ in K-town. Today, well, today was Revels. After over a decade of not participating in the Drew tradition, someone finally twisted my arm into going. Lots of familiar faces, including some I hadn't expected to see. Aaaand now I'm back at jedimentat's with mercurtio247, watching Beowulf and Grendel, recapping the last month of my life on a Saturday night. Booyashaka.
