I didn't want to post this until I told petemagyar, who I haven't seen lately. He's been running all over the place and working crazy hours for work.
Poll #922575 if (player.location == #18438)

Are you currently in a stable relationship?

No, my relationship isn't quite stable.
No, I'm "playing the field" as they say.
No, I'm single. What can I say, it's lonely at the top.

Does the idea of living near awesome people you know appeal to you? Like The Honeymooners, Three's Company, Small Wonder, Melrose Place, Empty Nest, or Too Close for Comfort?

Do you currently live in the NYC area and want to move, or would you like to live in the NYC area soon?

Yes, if I can make it there, I can make it ANYWHERE.
No, these little town blues aren't melting away anytime soon, choombah.

Does the idea of living in the_boke appeal to you?

Yes. I have my khakis and gold chains picked out.
Maybe, if the price is right.
Maybe, if assfingers isn't part of the deal.
No, Hoboken's so nineties. Get with it.

If you answered yes to all of those, I might have the deal for you. Last week, walking to my car, I ran into my landlord and his father. Or maybe my landlord and his son. All depends on how you look at it, and if you look at it the former way, you're going to be wrong... My downstairs neighbor/landlord (2nd floor, we're on the 4th floor) is moving out. He and his father are looking for a (no offense to us) nice couple to move into the apartment, and invited me to try to find such a couple I knew. Important details like rent, availability, and the like are completely unknown to me. But that's kind of the way he does things.

All I can really compare it to is our place, which many of you have seen. Corner unit, the master bedroom has a great view down two streets. Plenty of windows, hard wood floors, no laundry but a great laundry place on the corner 266 feet away, a parking garage just as far away, a grocery store a couple of blocks away, and free wireless (mine's locked down, just use Default). If you're really cool, you could probably use the roof with us.

The unit's a bit narrower in the middle than ours on the top floor, as it has to fit the hallway. But they use the hallway for storage, I'm sure you could too. It also extends out a bit over the Western edge of the building for the kitchen, probably recouping that lost space. That little addition has a window that lets out on to a little roof area right above the office for the doctor's office on the first floor, where a hammock was set up. So you could take advantage of that. The original CL advertisement we replied to said no pets, but a nice dog is ok. They themselves have a nice dog (two now), so if your dog can pass the nice test, you're in like Flynn. It's an old family owned place, but they're quick to respond to any maintenance issues we've brought up with them, as the owner lives a couple blocks away and knows everyone in town. Though I don't know the rent, I know we make most people we've talked to who also live in Hoboken jealous, so unless it's much more, it's a deal. Being the_boke, there's plenty of eateries and watering holes within walking distance. It's a twelve minute walk to the PATH, so you can take a slow walk/ride to lower or midtown Manhattan, stopping to get coffee from Rue de Jardin, and still make it to your office in thirty minutes. And if you don't smell or talk too much, you could probably watch me play WoW.

If you're interested, let me know.

In other news, Mike posted up his pictures from my birthday party. Check them out! If you missed them, here's Stave's and here's Larsson's.

Despite neither being the gender I'm interested in or being interested in said gender, ogun is always full of cutting yet insightful advice when it comes to the issues between men and women.

Re: Just for the record

I knew that was coming, I just thought that shmivejournal or runstaverun would beat you to it.

When writing this post up last night, I realized how few recent photos we have together, wanting to do a "do you want to live two floors away from two WILD AND CRAZY GUYS" type joke. Then I realized what the hell I was thinking. Either way, Mike took care of that problem this morning.

And one year later, we were born. Sadly, I can't find any of the sketches on YouTube, just this thing:

I would consider a move. The itch has been getting at me for awhile now. Only thing would be to know what the job market's like and whether it translates into an average of $23k+ for entry level and $800/month rent.

Higher salaries, higher rents.

There's some website out there that calculated the difference between regions well, I'll have to see if I can dig that out later...

My fiancee is looking to move out of her current apartment in the Boke for a number of reasons and is looking for apartments that we could live in while she finishes up her degree. I would only be up there about 1/2 the week (ie weekends and Fridays) for the first year but then would move up full time.

What are the details on this place?
kingfox From: kingfox Date: February 7th, 2007 08:24 pm (UTC) (Hard link)
I think I've given what few details I have, unfortunately. But if you want, I would be happy to pass an email address or something along to Steven to see if something could be worked out.

We're doing 1.7k for a 2BR two floors above it, so I don't know how much more or less it would be (we've had the same rent for a few years now). I pointed out the location to you that day we ran into each other, it's just four blocks West of Rue de Jardin.

I know that my answers really are of no help, I just like polls :)

Heheh, I figured that would be the case for most of the people answering.
