Make your Valentine's Day STEAMY
Hey, jenniever? You game?

Sirius is amazing. petemagyar got it for me last year, well said he would, and I got my Starmate Replay a week after Stern went on the air. Yeah, being a Stern addict for a number of years, I had to make the jump. His website after DLR went on the air was absolutely priceless. Just a simple ``Admit it. You miss him.'' splash screen. Since then, I've been enjoying Stern every morning. Beyond Stern, the network's been great. I don't know if I would get it without him, but I'm really glad I have it. Hard Attack is a great channel, and probably my favorite. All of my favorite artists, and a variety of tracks from them. Yesterday I heard three Maiden songs while at work, including Bruce doing a live version of a Di'Anno era song and a rarely heard track not repeated on any greatest hits albums or done live much. Any channel that's got a 95% enjoyment rate out of me is a good thing indeed. Hard to argue with that. And there's Buzzsaw for when I'm feeling cheezier, Hair Nation to take that to its logical conclusion, and plenty of classic rock stations for when that mood strikes me. The electronic stations are also great, particularly the breakbeats station. And Breuer on Raw Dog is pretty hilarious.

It'll come in handy when I drive into Connecticut with petemagyar Saturday morning for a M:TG tournament. NO I'M NOT PLAYING, I'm just going for the journey. NO NOT THE "JOURNEY". The story, that's what I'm going for.

Feeling: chipper chipper
Listening to: Pro-Pain, Foul Taste of Freedom

That picture is totally freaky!

And. . .They still have M:TG tournaments? Well, damn. I wonder if I can get anything good for my old cards. . . Probably not though. . .

Luckily, petemagyar got back INTO Magic back when I needed to buy a bed a couple of years ago. Sold off my old deck for a pretty penny at just the right time.

Depending on how old your cards are, and if they're useful in the current metagame (I can't believe I fucking said that), you could still get some good scratch for 'em. It'd hilarious to see kids playing M:TG with cards that came out while they were in kindergarten.

Glad I got out of it. Expensive habit.

Hmmm, at this point all of my cards are 10 years old. . . I stopped playing just before the "phasing and flanking" rules came out. I never even knew what they were, just heard about them from fellows addicts. I have, however, seem to have lost all of my black bordered cards (although I still have my dad's, yes he played too. . .) I sent them to be safe at a friend's after my apartment was broken into and a lot of my RPG stuff got stolen. . . And she says I took it back. . . Uh huh. . . That was close to 8 years ago though.

I also have some old Jyhad cards. I was really close to getting a full set when they up and changed the name to Vampire. . . I bet those would fetch me more.

Yeah, I used to be quite good at Magic:TG up until about 4th Edition, made it pretty far in tournaments and so on. They lost me when they started releasing eleventy-billion expansions a year, at which point I thought the game mechanics were quite tapped out, anyway, pardon the pun.

I've seen some of the new cards, and they don't even resemble the old ones. They're so ugly and commercial-graphic-design-by-the-numbers.

depending on the girl, that could actually gain you some hipster irony points

Hahah, I'd kill mine if he took me there.

Could be that I aggressively HATE onions, though.

There's nothing ironic about amazing steam grilled taste.

He immed me this during the day at some point and I actually kind of liked the idea.

in theory.

In the real world, however, this sort of thing would have to be delicately sold to fly. Like, there'd have to be a limo and a gown involved.

...and a dozen roses as well!

Like I said, done properly, there's a lot of irony to be had from the whole encounter. Done poorly and, well, you'll be spending some quality time by yourself on Valentine's Day

You got the idea...

As long as you make a girl feel like a princess (whatever that may mean...), you can make anything fly.

Even White Castle.

(I do have to say, the server option is a nice touch)

I said I was gonna get sattelite radio when Stern jumped but of course now that the time has come I'm feeling cheap. Your comments about Maiden are compelling, however.

You can get a free demo of Sirius online, I believe, and give the music stations a trial spin.

Man, it's times like this I really miss being able to fuck around on the internet at work...

Hm, yeah, I dunno. White Castle on V-day? Not feeling it.

As for M:TG I still have a ton of cards, including my favorite Chub Toad.

Chub Toad, Chub Toad at the door
Run away quick or you'll run no more...

I haven't dusted them off in a good 10 years. I do belive last I played I was quite pregnant and playing with "Gerk".
