The mind boggles that someone could refer to Fallbrook, CA as "suburban San Diego." That's a bit of a stretch seeing as Fallbrook is separated from SD by uninhabited desert.

In a weird, weird coincidence, my cats came from Fallbrook.

I hope your cats are faring better.

I've seen some far off sections of NJ being referred to as a suburb or Philly or NYC, and I boggle as well.

The cats are doing great, co-dependent little hair beasties that they are.

It's a lot like the places that get referred to as "suburbs of Chicago" too, for that matter. Heh, I'm sure we could come up with a bunch of big cities where the word "suburb" is defined somewhat loosely.
