Happy Ides of March!
Second time writing this, yay for Mozilla crashing.

I'm not as well traveled as my girlfriend or my roomie petemagyar. The latter's been to every continent except Australia, and explored quite a bit of Europe and Asia. Me? I've not ventured out into the world nearly as much as I'd like to. I'd like to hit Turkey and Japan before 2012.

My father used to work for a British corporation. One business trip, he took me along, and we spent a month or so in the United Kingdom. The days he had to work, I was still able to explore with a secretary assigned to look after me. In those few weeks we packed a lot of England in. I got to see a huge amount of London, the Cotswolds, the Southern coast, and everything in between. Ancient Roman baths, tiny villages forgotten by time, and the different areas of London. Just missed an IRA bombing, got to see the Berlin Wall fall on BBC live, and learned quite a bit about the world and myself. Had some great moments, some horrible moments, and came back wiser despite my lack of years on this rock.

Except for that venture to England, I haven't seen much of the world. A trip to Jamaica after my mother and father divorced where I saw a man die and repressed it for almost two decades, and a couple jaunts up to the frozen North when I was a wee lad or a Scout.

Like my mother quillter, I'm sure I left something out. There was the trip that she mentioned out West with her parents, the trip a year before that down to Disney World, the trip after that for cessna182's graduation from Paris Island, crazy MB2K trip with Roach and egolds01, the trip west after my gramps passed away, and a trip to Vermont with chiquib. Beyond that all of the major trips have been by plane. While this map looks like I've been just about everywhere, a good deal of the destinations were reached before I hit kindergarden, let alone middle school.

jenniever can kick all your asses at the lemonade game, and that's not just baiting. She really can.

Déjeuner du matin by Jacques Prévert (aka only the French can do a breakup so well)
Il a mis le café
Dans la tasse
Il a mis le lait
Dans la tasse de café
Il a mis le sucre
Dans le café au lait
Avec la petite cuiller
Il a tourné
Il a bu le café au lait
Et il a reposé la tasse
Sans me parler
Il a allumé
Une cigarette
Il a fait des ronds
Avec la fumée
Il a mis les cendres
Dans le cendrier
Sans me parler
Sans me regarder
Il s'est levé
Il a mis
Son chapeau sur sa tête
Il a mis
Son manteau de pluie
Parce qu'il pleuvait
Et il est parti
Sous la pluie
Sans une parole
Sans me regarder
Et moi j'ai pris
Ma tête dans ma main
Et j'ai pleuré.

Ken was probably just intimidated by all the cash Barbie was raking in compared to his smaller assets.

And that poem was just sad. Beautiful, but sad. I totally dug it. But my dyslexia must be acting up, because I read Prévert as pervert. Que sera, sera ...

That would explain a bit about what's on the note, if that was his name.
