I don't want to get my hopes up, but this could be really awesome.

it'd better be animation, that's all i have to say.

oh, and that the voices of thompson & thomson are critical.

With DreamWorks involved, it could be some damn fine animation.

That was my initial response as well. I am guardedly optimistic.

I just found my tintin stash a few months ago, but haven't cracked them open again...

Yeah, my brother just sent me the complete set. After the semester I'm sitting down with some Belgian mussels or fries and going nuts with 'em.

And of course, I read that as TrinTrin, which is one of the many nicknames for my cat, Trinity.

I wondered how you knew her!

Despite growing up with Tintin and being obsessed with him all this time, I have never seen a single episode of that series. :-(

It was always on when I didn't have HBO, or at an odd hour when I did. It was one of the first things I thought of recording when I got TiVo, but it was no longer on at that point. :-(

One day I should pick up the DVDs, if they were that great.

You know, when I was a kid, I watched the Tintin cartoon, obviously in English. Had no clue that he was from Belgium and that Snowy was really called Milou. So then as I grew older and found Tintin comcis in French I thought, wow, nice! He really is popular, they've translated him into French.

Ha.

Who'd play the boy wonder, I wonder?

Have you ever heard of Tintin in the New World: A Romance? It's a book written by an intellectual who looks a bit like the Dutchman. In this novel Tintin experiences puberty, love, anger, change, and spends most of it chatting in a Mexican hotel with other characters from famous works. Then, out of nowhere, he becomes a messiah-figure at the end to a Amazonian shamanistic society. It's really quite the book, and really upset a lot of fans.

but the real question is: did enough people go to private school for this to make money?

I think so.

Tintin's huge, man. There's enough of a population to support Tintin stores that are more expensive than Sanrio stores.

It ain't going to be just Anthony Bourdain and I in the audience opening night.

Tintin movie actor

been flying around the net lately that actor Kirsten Myburgh might be playing the part of Tintin in Spielberg's film. I looked him up and found pictures and info. Looks like he really could pull it off.

hope this helps :)
