Three years old as of, well, yesterday...
I remember looking up my LJ birthday a few days ago, and I missed it like a bad parent. But at least I can wish a happy birthday to towelboy and violettandblue.
  • First post in 2002, when I was miserable in many ways. Drama and issues surrounded me.
  • One year later, in 2003, I was still not quite happy with life, but was finally extracting myself from a painful situation.
  • Day before and day after my LJ anniversary in 2004 (no post on the day itself), things were going wonderfully in my life.
  • Day before and day after (once more I missed the day), in 2005, things are even more amazing.
Back to homework for my classes.

Feeling: chipper chipper
Listening to: birds chirping on my fire escape

I think we're on a pretty similar path. I wasn't doing great in 2002 myself, but things have been steadily getting better each year.

Here's to it continuing.

And - Crimson Skies was fun. Up for more next weekend, or Halo 2?

Yeah, we both seem to be on a nice upswing.

Next weekend is wideathtrip, where jenniever and I drive this, just so we can hang out with a bunch of people who used to play on a text-based game that I used to help run and their friends/family. It's like MB2K, but with less discussion of cybersphere.

If I didn't have to write up my thoughts on DeBeers and monopolistic practices they engage in, and play more with Flash<->PHP<->MS SQL, I'd be up for flying the not-so-friendly skies right now. I'd forgotten how much fun that game is. Maybe early this week after work, or next week?

What is up with early 2002? A lot of people, myself included, seem to have had a really difficult time then.

It was just after 9/11

A lot of people in this area were in a funk for many months after that.

I was living in a place where I wasn't entirely welcome, trying to save a relationship with a neurotic mean person, and was quite broke. The latter two changed around this time or soon after, and I moved out a year and a half later.

Re: It was just after 9/11

I was in a bad, bad relationship with a mean person. I realized it was time to move on when he almost hit me. I think early 2002 was the time period of unhealthy relationships for everyone I know.

Pretty cool it's three years later and you've almost got your degree, have a sweet relationship, and have your own place. Someone up there's watching our asses.

whoa... you mean my LJ's older than yours?

Don't take this the wrong way, but I always thought of you as the HTML Methuselah of LJ for some reason

Nope, I'm a relative newb. I held out on getting one for a while, then finally begged a code out of someone on /. at some point. I'd been reading them for a while, but that was it.

It's ok, jenniever's been around much longer than you, redvector's older than her, and some of my CS friends are older than all you Drew kids.

One of my random LJ friends, velvetseas is in the triple digits... talk about an early adopter! I'm surprised someone on the East Coast got into LJ so early in its development
