A few questions...
Some things I would like to know, while I work on the froshling config:

Poll #305054 A few important questions

O.J. Simpson - 10 years later - what do you believe from what you know about the case?

I believe he murdered Nicole and Ronald.
28(73.7%)
I believe he was involved with their deaths, but did not kill them himself.
5(13.2%)
I believe he covered something up about the death, but was not responsible.
4(10.5%)
I believe he's an innocent victim of the media and corrupt police force.
1(2.6%)

O.J. Simpson - right after both trials - what did you believe about the case?

I believed he was involved with their deaths, but did not kill them himself.
5(13.2%)
I believed he covered something up about the death, but was not responsible.
1(2.6%)
I believed he was an innocent victim of the media and corrupt police force.
3(7.9%)

O.J. Simpson - right after both trials - did you think he'd ever find the ``real killer(s)''?

Yes. Between golfing, acting, and raising his kids - he would get to the bottom of it.
7(18.4%)
No. I thought he was on a hopeless noble quest.
2(5.3%)
Yes. Every morning, when he looked into the bathroom mirror.
29(76.3%)

Why can't Windows patches standardize command line switches?

-n /norestart -z -unattend /passive -q
3(7.7%)
They're out to fucking get you!
17(43.6%)
Because they really want you to use their web interface.
19(48.7%)

Do you ever really use the ``back'' button on many websites that they've been telling people to put on every site since Lynx was cool?

Yes. They're helpful and handy.
0(0.0%)
If it's a well constructed website, yes. Otherwise I tell my browser to back the fuck up.
8(21.1%)
No. I hit the back button, a keyboard shortcut, use a mouse gesture, or otherwise tell my browser to go back a step. Even Lynx had that functionality, it's easier than finding a button.
20(52.6%)
Manifest FUCKING destiny. I never go back. Only forward. Go West, young man!
10(26.3%)

Ten Years? Already??

And I still think he's guilty. The media circus surrounding the whole trial didn't help matters, especially when his defense started crying racism. We're not pinning it on him because we're bigots, fools: the guy beat the shit out of his wife, beat her some more, stalked her, broke into her house to beat her again, and then one day she suddenly gets nearly-decapitated in her own yard. Hmm. I wonder.

And I have to admit, I got a raised eyebrow after reading Simpsons' recent comments to the media. Apparently, date rape really isn't rape, because women don't really mean 'no', and Nicole's a pain in the ass because she has to be dead when he's trying to raise their kids. That bitch.

i always thought, and continue to think, that he was guilty. but i was hoping that mess of a trial would at least bring some changes to race relations and some much-needed focus on corruption and law enforcement.

no dice.

Re: Ten Years? Already??

Christ. I skipped watching that because everything on the news turns me into a bad person. And just... wow to his comments on date rape. That's freaking wonderful.

*goes and looks at more pictures of foals*

Yeah, that's why it's in the news again...

Stern's been playing clips of his recent interviews the past couple of days, which got me thinking about it. The part where he got angry at Nicole and Kato was creepy, and I loved when he started making fun of everyone involved with the case ``cashing in'' and being interviewed about the affair ten years later... in an interview about the affair ten years later. Yeah.

I'm all about the CLI for some purposes. And all about the GUI for others. I'm glad we've finally got modern OSes with both in mostly un-neutered forms.

Ever read In The Beginning... Was the Command Line?

no, i haven't read it, but we do have a copy due back on the 23rd. :D

i'm all about being cross-platform. i do wish i had some more command line experience under my belt, but oh well. hee.

The back button thing can be very useful when you're linked into the middle of someone's site (not that I ever come across links like that, especially not here!)
The back button is completely useless when it's a javascript command to push the browser's back button for you; I completely hate that.

It's all about tabbed browsing, control pgup/pgdn, control w, and alt left. The prior belief that the hokey pokey was the sum of everything is a lie.
